We provide detailed, itemized proposals before any work begins. Our maintenance contracts include a clear scope of services and a predictable monthly fee. Any work outside the contract scope, such as storm cleanup or additional planting, is quoted separately and approved by you before we proceed. No surprises.

Yes. We provide priority emergency response for storm-damaged, fallen, or hazardous trees that threaten structures, roads, or power lines. Our ISA Certified Arborist assesses the situation and our crews are equipped for safe, rapid removal. Our crews stay at least 10 feet from power lines and coordinate with the utility provider on anything closer. Absolutely. Navigating tree removal permits in South Florida can be complex. Each municipality has different ordinances, heritage tree protections, and replacement requirements. Our ISA Certified Arborist handles the permit application process, provides required documentation and arborist reports, and ensures your project complies with all local regulations.

It depends on the city, and several regulate pruning directly rather than only removal. Manalapan requires a trimming and pruning permit to reduce any single tree, hedge or shrub by more than twenty-five percent, which reaches hedges as well as trees. Miami Gardens requires a permit to remove more than twenty-five percent of a tree canopy within a twelve month period. Sunrise defines tree abuse to include pruning that reduces the height or spread of a tree that has not reached thirty feet, however cleanly it is cut. Key Biscayne prohibits hatracking and topping outright and allows crown reduction beyond one third only where a tree interferes with utility lines or where the Director agrees after storm damage. We establish which rule applies before a maintenance contract is priced.

That depends on which county. In Miami-Dade the county permit reaches every property, and Section 24-49 provides that a municipal permit which does not comply with the county standard is void, so a city permit there is never the whole answer. In Broward, twenty-three municipalities hold a certified tree ordinance and enforce it in place of county enforcement, while the remaining cities answer to the county Tree Removal License. In Palm Beach the municipal rule governs an ordinary removal, and a separate countywide invasive vegetation ordinance binds inside city limits regardless. We confirm which layers apply to a specific parcel before filing.

It varies widely, and in many jurisdictions the amount is not in the code at all. Lauderhill publishes a per tree schedule by caliper for multi-family and non-residential property, running twenty-five dollars up to twelve inches, fifty dollars to eighteen, seventy-five to twenty-four, and twenty-five dollars for each additional six inches. Pembroke Park publishes per acre ceilings by property type. Miami-Dade County sets its fees by separate administrative order approved by the Board of County Commissioners rather than printing them in the code, and a number of cities set theirs by resolution. We obtain the operative figure from the department before it reaches a proposal rather than quoting a rate from somewhere else.

The replacement obligation is usually the larger number, not the fine. Miami-Dade calculates replacement by canopy area in square feet rather than by counting trees, and doubles it for a specimen tree. Miami Gardens replaces an unpermitted removal at twice the standard requirement and will estimate the size of a tree that is no longer there from the stump and historic records. North Bay Village replaces at two caliper inches for every one removed, and four for one on a specimen. Loxahatchee Groves counts each tree and each day as separate violations and requires a bond for the full cost of an approved restoration plan. Lauderdale Lakes holds the property owner strictly liable.

In several jurisdictions the credential is a condition of the permit rather than a preference. Miami Beach will not issue a tree work permit for the removal, relocation or pruning of a heritage tree without a written evaluation from an ISA Certified Arborist or an ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist. Bay Harbor Islands issues no single-family or two-family tree permit without a detailed written statement from a licensed arborist or landscape architect. Plantation requires a certified arborist to sign the tree trimming application and to be on site while the pruning is done. In Miami Gardens an ISA certified arborist classifying a tree as high risk is itself the route to an exemption. Our ISA Certified Arborist (NY-6948A) produces those reports.

A specimen tree is one a code singles out for stricter treatment, and the threshold is set locally. Miami Gardens defines it as a trunk of eighteen inches DBH or more, or multiple trunks that collectively measure eighteen inches, so three clumping six inch trunks qualify. Removing one commonly doubles the replacement requirement, and in Miami-Dade a specimen tree also falls outside the single-family yard exemption. Establishing specimen status before a job is quoted is the difference between a routine removal and a mitigation project.

There is usually a route for it, and it is conditional rather than automatic. Riviera Beach allows removal of a tree severely damaged by fire, windstorm, lightning or other acts of nature where it poses imminent danger to life or property, and provides that a lightly damaged tree is not to be automatically removed. Deerfield Beach lets an owner document a hazardous condition by photographs or other evidence taken before the removal, and requires documentation to the city landscaper within forty-eight hours for a specimen or historic tree or a natural forest community. Manalapan exempts a storm-destroyed tree from the permit but not from the replacement and landscape plan requirements. The photographs are taken while the tree is still standing, which a storm crew needs to be told in advance.

Often the property owner, and sometimes both. Lauderdale Lakes holds the owner of any property where a tree has been cut down, destroyed, removed, relocated or destructively damaged strictly liable, with four defences: an act of God, an act of war, development under an approved tree permit, or damage by vandals or trespassers where the owner filed a police report and had taken reasonable security measures. Lauderhill reaches any person who causes, suffers, permits or allows the prohibited act, which covers a board or management company approving a scope as well as the crew doing the work. That is a reason to confirm the permit is in hand before a crew mobilizes rather than afterwards.
